absence from school
I
f your child is going to be absent please telephone the school and the class teacher will be notified.  On returning to school after an absence a note or a telephone call would be appreciated.

school fees
These are not compulsory.  They are to help pay for the paper, art supplies, books, etc. needed to run the school.  We rely on your generosity to support the school with this donation.

school newsletters
A school newsletter is usually printed each week and sent home on Thursdays.

school clothing
There is no school uniform.  During the winter term it is a good idea for children to have a change of clothes if they are likely to get wet and dirty playing rugby and other games.  Would parents please make sure that children's clothing is named.  The school has available for sale 'T' shirts and sweatshirts.
Sunhats from home - very important!

lost property
At the end of each term this will disposed of.  Please feel welcome to come up and check to see if any of your child's gear is in the lost property box.

leaving school grounds
Children must not leave school grounds without the express permission of their teacher and/or duty teacher.  Children who walk or bike should leave the grounds immediately following the departure of the first bus.  Any alterations to normal home transport arrangements, please notify the school in writing or by telephone/fax if necessary.

school bus
When enrolling your child/children you will need to indicate if you wish to use the school bus.  The Principal will then make the necessary arrangements with the bus driver regarding times, stops etc.

bus safety
Behaviour on buses and at bus stops is the responsibility of the Parents as well as the school and driver.  If a child is collected by a Parent and has indicated travel by bus PLEASE let the teacher on Duty know so the bus rolls can be altered. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. The loading bay at the school (near bike shed) must be kept free of cars around bus time to enable the driver to turn.  If Parents are picking up children from school please park your car on the school side of the road so children do not have to cross the road.  This is a busy road at times and drivers are not always watchful of small children crossing the road.

bus behaviour
Behaviour on the school bus is a joint responsibility - Parents and school.  Fighting, swearing, moving from the designated seats will not be tolerated.  If after 3 formal warnings and the child persists in going over the bounds of acceptable behaviour - then the child will be put off the bus for 1 week.  The next time it will be two weeks and so on.  The school bus service is a privilege not a right.
